Michael Riordan, founder and President of Focus Trading, Inc. has nearly 30 years of experience in the commodities industry and has successfully worked with hundreds of traders. Michael’s futures career is well-rounded. He began his career at Stotler and Company in 1983 as market analyst. He joined Manufacturers Hanover Futures & Options, Inc. in 1985 as bank officer and later served as CBOT financial floor operations manager and market analyst. Michael joined Goldenberg, Hehmeyer & Co. in 1992 as a proprietary futures and options trader investing in both short and long-term financial derivatives. He worked with NatWest Futures, Inc. from 1993 until1995 as financial market analyst and with Credit Lyonnais Rouse from 1995 until 1996 at the CBOT managing floor operations. He founded Focus Trading, Inc. in 1996.

In the initial 13 years of interaction with the institutional trading community, local pit traders and brokers, Michael found a passion for research analysis, obtained additional training and honed his own technique for trading which lead to the formation of Focus Trading, Inc. Initially providing analysis to colleagues, floor traders and clients who recognized his ability to provide consistently accurate market analysis specializing in technical analysis—he expanded his clientele to the electronic trading community globally. Today Michael and Focus Trading provide analysis to individual traders, CTAs, funds, institutions, and is a published author and speaker. Michael J. Riordan holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business from Eastern Illinois University. He was a member of the CBOT from 1988-2008. Michael is a registered Commodities Trading Advisor (CTA). He resides in Darien, Illinois with his wife and three children.
